If yes, continue reading the content below to find out the “Top 5 Ways to take your Content Marketing to the Next Level”.

Wait, before I give you those tips. They might be some readers who don’t know what content marketing is.

What is content marketing?

According to the Content Marketing Institute, Content marketing is a strategic marketing approach focused on creating and distributing valuable, relevant, and consistent content to attract and retain a clearly-defined audience — and, ultimately, to drive profitable customer action.

Now that I got that out of the way…. Here we go!

Set your goals

If you aim for nothing, you’ll hit it every time.” – Source unknown

If you don’t set goals you won’t accomplish anything. This also applies to your content marketing. It’s important to set goals to build your content strategy.

You will be surprised how many businesses don’t do this and is one of the reasons why they fail.

Here are a few questions to ask yourself.

  • What do you want to accomplish with your content?
  • What is the timeline? How long will it take you to reach your goals?
  • What is your content going to be about?

Know Your Audience like the back of your hand

If you have been doing business for a while I’m pretty sure that you know the type of person that mostly interacts with your company.

Create buyer personas of each type of person that you sell to, to better understand them. The better understand the more you can cater to what they want and need.

Think about it. How could you write content if you don’t know who you are writing it for or to? You wouldn’t text a person if you didn’t have their number. So gather data every way you can to learn your audience.

Put your customer in your head

When content marketers write content they try their best to optimize for the search engine but what about the users? The search engine wouldn’t be anything if weren’t people to make searches.

Tailor your content to the human and not the robot. Don’t hound or chase your customers give them something they will love and they will come to you.

People are more than willing to share content that they can learn from. Don’t just write content, engage with your customers and make them a part of the conversations. They will love to interact with you.

Produce Different Content

The same type of content can get boring if it’s used over and over again. People like different things. Some of your audience might like videos while others favor a great read. Whatever it may be, create something for everyone.

This also gives you a chance to expand your brand on to different platforms reaching a larger crowd. For example, when you write a blog create a video form of the blog that you wrote. Don’t limit yourself I promise it will pay off.

Share and Promote

Distribute your content. Think about your content as a product. Many companies have products but these products wouldn’t be anyone’s home if there were no salespeople to sell it. I’m not saying to get salespeople to sell your content but you and your team should promote your content on all platforms. This will drive more traffic and will get you more engagement.

A pro tip is to leave a link to your blog in the comment section of other blogs that people will find useful. Reach out to other blog writers and ask them to share a link to a piece of your content in their blog (make sure your blogs make sense to link to each other).

Conclusion

Content marketing is extremely important to your business and I’m happy to have helped you along your journey to take your content marketing to the next level.
