Top 10 camera movements

Resources

  1. Push in – Moving straight forward to center the main landscape/location
  2. Pull out – Opposite of Push in (meant for revealing something)
  3. Parallax (FAV) – Move the body in one direction and pan in the opposite direction (the subject stays in place, but the background moves)
  4. Rise Up – Straight up as a jib would make
  5. Reveal – Find something in the foreground to reveal a particular item
  6. Tilt up or down – Establish a location or reveal a character in a scene
  7. Change of focus – Set a focus close and move away to blue, then come back into focus
  8. Tracking – Keep the subject in the same spot of the frame, but you can side/lead tracking
  9. Transitions – Use 2 objects from 2 scenes to transition into another scene (a couple walking, you pass a pole, and use the pole to move into another scene)
  10. Low Mode – Turn the camera upside down and give a different perspective, unlike a drone from top-down
